Message	...if you pad the bar, the padding will nearly touch the roof panel, and thus zero visibility. It's been so long since mine wasn't padded that I can't really remember, but I want to say that there was only about an inch of space. That makes sense, because the padding will take up about that amount of room. Hope this helps.
